Classic Deadpan Crime Noir

Crime noir author David Boop is on the Meet an Author show to answer questions and read from his novel 'She Murdered Me With Science'. Pulp adventure mixed with deadpan noir is how critics describe this clever and humorous novel, with a dose of historical 1950s writing and a bit of sci-fi thrown in. Come to the Written Word area and fly or tp up to the Red Sky Club for the event.

Meet An Author Courses

Linda Kay Silva from last week's show made a great start to her fiction writing course on Tuesday. As an author of 8 novels she had plenty of tips and the audience interacted on the week's topic - how to write that opening line. 'Workshop' would be too serious a word to describe the course, although it's full of invaluable information for writers at all levels, because Linda is so much fun.

From Policewoman to Author and Teacher

Linda Kay Silva was one of the most dynamic guests I've had on the Meet an Author show. Not surprising for an ex-cop, and she started the show with chilling and hilarious real life tales of how she didn't fit into that line of work. Now she has 8 published novels and gave powerful readings from her latest urban fantasy 'Across Time'.

Monsters Under the Bed

This week's Meet an Author presents Holly Jahangiri whose delightful book Trockle is about a monster who lives under a little boy's bed. While the boy asks his Mum to reassure him about scary thing under the bed, the baby monster Trockle also asks his Mum to help him get over his fears about the enormous human child who stops him sleeping.

Marilyn Johnson's The Dead Beat for our Memorial Weekend show

Author Marilyn Johnson is today's guest. Princess Diana, Jackie Onassis and Bob Hope are just some of the remarkable people whose obituaries Marilyn wrote. Researching their fascinating lives led her to write the highly acclaimed book 'The Dead Beat' which has been described by Parade as 'A smart, tart, and often hilarious tiptoe through the tombstones'.
